Conversations That Matter

2016

Conversations That Matter considers ways in which we might learn collaboratively and democratically, and what the political implications of this are. Made in collaboration with Amy Feneck as The Alternative School of Economics, the book is the culmination of a weekly Conversation Club at Rabbits Road Institute.

The premise of Conversation Club was to bring together non-native English speakers to give space and time to ‘conversations that matter’ – to practise speaking English whilst talking about personal, political and social issues, and trying to get to grips with how the things that affect our lives are connected to the bigger picture. The publications asks both ‘what’s political about learning English?’ and ‘how can we learn English politically?’.
