A series of events and conversations about Freedom, inspired by the Magna Carta and the Charter of the Forest and their distinction of ‘free men’ and ‘the unfree’. Part of an evolving commission with Mansions of the Future in Lincoln unravelling the social and philosophical structures around the concept of freedom.

Beginning with interviews with people in Lincoln, thinking about the effect of class, wealth, race, gender, sexuality, religion on freedom, access to employment, education, health services and housing, the right to vote, and the right to live and work in the UK. An exhibition and series of public events was held at Mansions of the Future included:

– PRIZZZON, a talk and conversation with artist, activist and instagrammer Lisa Selby/bluebaglife and author and activist Carl Cattermole

– Dystopia Worldbuilding, workshop with author Angeline Trevana, creator of the Memory Trader series and the Great Western Wood podcast.

– Communal Lunch: Migration, Brexit & freedom of movement with Lincoln Polish Society, with an interactive timeline of EU membership and immigration law.
