Central Control, The Faded Sun & Ten Thousand Light-Years from Home

A set of small gouache and watercolour paintings inspired by spaceship illustration and the iconic Swiss Cottage Library building, designed by Basil Spence in 1959. The paintings are dedicated to three queer women sci-fi writers who published under male pseudonyms, Alice Norton (A.K.A. Andre Norton), Carolyn Janice Cherry (A.K.A. C.J. Cherryh) and Alice Sheldon (A.K.A. James Tiptree Jr), highlighting the misogyny and prejudice in twentieth century science fiction publishing.
